Description

Wholesome Chocolate Bliss Balls are a delicious, nutrient-packed no-bake snack perfect for a quick energy boost. Made with dates, almonds, oats, and rich cocoa, these vegan and gluten-free treats are easy to prepare and customizable to suit your taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup Medjool dates (pitted)
  • ½ cup raw almonds
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Pinch of sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional for Rolling

  • Shredded coconut or cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base mixture: Add the pitted dates, raw almonds, and rolled oats to a food processor. Pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped and well combined.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Incorporate the unsweetened cocoa powder, almond butter, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt into the food processor. Process the mixture until it forms a sticky dough. If the mixture feels too dry, add water one teaspoon at a time until it sticks when pressed.
  3. Form the balls: Scoop out heaping tablespoons of the mixture and roll them between your palms to create smooth balls.
  4. Coat the balls: Roll each ball in shredded coconut or extra cocoa powder if desired to add texture and enhance flavor.
  5. Chill: Place the balls in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.
  6. Store: Keep the bliss balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

  • You can swap almonds for cashews or walnuts depending on preference.
  • Any nut or seed butter can be used in place of almond butter.
  • For an added nutrition boost, include a tablespoon of protein powder in the mixture.
