Description

Enjoy a refreshing and naturally sweet Vegan Korean Strawberry Milk made with fresh strawberries and your choice of plant-based milk. This easy-to-make drink features a homemade strawberry compote that adds both vibrant color and luscious flavor, perfect for a wholesome treat or a delightful beverage on a warm day.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Compote

  • 1½ cups chopped fresh strawberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water

Beverage

  • 2 cups plant-based milk (oat, almond, or soy), chilled
  • Optional: ice cubes
  • Optional: strawberry slices for decoration

Instructions

  1. Make the Strawberry Compote: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped fresh strawberries, cane sugar or maple syrup, and water. Cook the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries become soft and syrupy. Lightly mash the cooked strawberries with a fork to achieve a chunky texture. Remove from heat and allow the compote to cool completely.
  2. Assemble the Drink: Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry compote into the bottom of each serving glass. Add ice cubes to the glasses if you prefer your drink chilled and refreshing.
  3. Add the Milk: Slowly pour the chilled plant-based milk over the strawberry compote layer in each glass. This will create beautiful swirling patterns as the milk blends with the strawberry syrup.
  4. Stir and Serve: Gently swirl the drink with a straw or a spoon to combine the layers before drinking. Garnish each glass with extra fresh strawberry slices for an inviting presentation. Serve the Vegan Korean Strawberry Milk immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute cane sugar with maple syrup or agave nectar for natural sweetness.
  • Use any plant-based milk you prefer, such as oat, almond, or soy milk, depending on flavor and dietary needs.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the compote based on the tartness of your strawberries.
  • For a colder drink, chill the compote after cooking or add more ice cubes.
  • For a smoother drink, you can blend the compote before assembling.
