Teriyaki Sauce Recipe:

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water (for slurry)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)


Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  2. Create Slurry: In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Slowly pour into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
  3. Thicken Sauce: Cook and stir for 2–3 minutes until the sauce reaches desired thickness. Remove from heat, stir in sesame oil if using, and cool slightly before use or storing.
