Teriyaki Sauce Recipe:
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cold water (for slurry)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Create Slurry: In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to make a slurry. Slowly pour into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
- Thicken Sauce: Cook and stir for 2–3 minutes until the sauce reaches desired thickness. Remove from heat, stir in sesame oil if using, and cool slightly before use or storing.
