Description

This Spicy Ground Beef Taco Ring is a delicious and fun twist on traditional tacos. A flavorful beef mixture is encased in flaky crescent roll dough, creating a stunning ring that’s perfect for parties or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

For the beef mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For the taco ring:

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

Optional toppings:

  • Chopped lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced olives
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Add tomatoes and cheese: Stir in diced tomatoes with green chilies and shredded cheese. Let cool slightly.
  4. Prepare the ring: Unroll crescent dough into triangles. Arrange in a circle on the baking sheet, spoon beef mixture around the ring, fold dough over filling.
  5. Bake: Brush dough with beaten egg and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  6. Serve: Let cool, slice, and serve with desired toppings.

Notes

  • To save time, prepare the beef mixture in advance and store in the fridge.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • For extra spice, add jalapeños or pepper jack cheese.
