Description

This Nacho Cheese Beef Wrap recipe combines seasoned ground beef with creamy nacho cheese sauce, tangy Rotel tomatoes and green chilies, and crunchy crushed Doritos, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and toasted to a crispy perfection. It’s a quick and flavorful meal perfect for lunch or dinner that has both spicy and cheesy elements with a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • ½ cup chopped green peppers
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Mix

Cheese Mixture

  • 1 cup Nacho Cheese Sauce
  • 1 can Rotel (green chilis with diced tomatoes)

Other Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sour Cream
  • Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos, crushed
  • 4 flour tortilla wraps
  • Shredded lettuce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef: Place the lean ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally to break up the meat. Once cooked through, drain any excess fat.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Add the diced onions and chopped green peppers to the skillet with the beef. Sauté together for about 4 minutes until the vegetables soften.
  3. Add taco seasoning: Stir in the packet of taco seasoning mix into the beef and vegetable mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  4. Prepare cheese mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilies and the nacho cheese sauce. Mix well until fully blended.
  5. Lay out tortillas: Place the four flour tortilla wraps on a flat clean surface, ready for assembly.
  6. Add cheese mixture to tortillas: Spoon a generous layer of the nacho cheese and Rotel mixture down the center of each tortilla.
  7. Top with beef mixture and extras: On top of the cheese layer, evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture, then add dollops of sour cream, additional diced onions and peppers if desired, and sprinkle crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos for crunch.
  8. Wrap the tortillas: Fold in the sides of each tortilla and roll tightly from one end to the other, forming a neat burrito-style wrap.
  9. Toast the wraps: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place the wrapped tortillas seam-side down in the skillet. Toast until the bottoms are golden and crispy, then carefully flip to toast the other side, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  10. Serve: Remove the wraps from heat and serve immediately. Garnish with shredded lettuce and any additional preferred toppings such as salsa or guacamole.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat and calories.
  • You can substitute flour tortillas with whole wheat or gluten-free wraps as needed.
  • For a spicier flavor, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
  • Crushing Doritos just before assembling keeps them crunchy.
  • Toast the wraps carefully to avoid burning and ensure crispiness.
