Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Tenders are a quick and flavorful dish featuring crispy pan-fried chicken coated in a luscious honey garlic glaze. Perfect for a weeknight dinner, this recipe combines the sweetness of honey, the savory depth of soy sauce, and the aromatic punch of garlic to create an irresistible meal served garnished with fresh parsley or green onion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken tenders or sliced chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour

For Frying

  • 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or green onion

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. Coat each piece evenly with cornstarch or flour to ensure a crispy exterior. Shake off any excess coating before frying.
  2. Pan-Fry Chicken: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken tenders and pan-fry them for 3–4 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and are fully cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter and the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Make the Glaze: Stir in 1/4 cup honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes if using. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly into a glaze.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the cooked chicken tenders to the skillet. Toss them in the honey garlic glaze, cooking for an additional minute to ensure the chicken is fully coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley or green onion over the chicken. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double dredge the chicken by dipping back into milk or beaten egg before coating with cornstarch or flour.
  • Adjust the red chili flakes to your preferred spice level or omit if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce for a less salty dish.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled to serve more people.
  • Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a balanced meal.
