Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Flavoring and Sweetener
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
Milk and Garnish
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- Cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Boil and Brew Tea: In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the black tea bags and ground cinnamon, then reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
- Remove Tea Bags and Add Flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and discard the tea bags. Stir in the vanilla extract and your choice of sweetener, adjusting to your preferred sweetness level.
- Heat and Froth Milk: In a separate saucepan or a microwave-safe container, warm the milk until it is hot but not boiling. Froth the milk using a milk frother, a whisk, or by shaking it vigorously in a lidded jar until light and foamy.
- Combine and Serve: Pour the spiced tea into a mug, then gently top it with the warm frothed milk. Stir lightly to combine flavors.
- Garnish and Enjoy: Optionally, garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon for an extra touch of aroma and elegance. Serve the drink warm for the best experience.
Notes
- Use stronger black teas like Assam or English Breakfast for a bolder, more robust flavor.
- For an iced version, chill the spiced tea and milk separately, then pour over ice before serving.
- You can use any milk alternative such as almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free option.
- Adjust the sweetness according to your taste preference, starting with less and adding more if needed.
