- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar (divided)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, half the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; do not overmix. Fold in the chopped apples.
- Create Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix the remaining brown sugar with the cinnamon. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar over the top and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake: Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
