Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (plus more to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Cook the ramen noodles according to package directions without using the seasoning packets. Drain well and set aside to prevent overcooking.
- Cook Chicken: Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and season with soy sauce, sriracha, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it. Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for another minute to form a roux.
- Prepare Creamy Base: Slowly whisk in the milk and chicken broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens to a creamy consistency.
- Finish Sauce: Reduce heat to low, stir in grated Parmesan cheese and optional chili flakes for extra heat. Adjust seasoning to taste with salt, pepper, and additional sriracha if desired.
- Toss and Serve: Return the cooked chicken and drained noodles to the skillet. Toss thoroughly to coat everything evenly with the creamy garlic sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and extra sriracha for added spice. Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by reducing or increasing the amount of sriracha and chili flakes to your preference.
- For a richer, creamier sauce, substitute half-and-half for the milk.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or fresh spinach when cooking the chicken for extra texture and nutrients.
- Use bone-in chicken thighs for more flavor but increase cooking time accordingly.
