Description

Crockpot Angel Chicken is a comforting and creamy slow cooker recipe featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a rich sauce of cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, broth, white wine, and Italian seasoning. Served over angel hair pasta and garnished with fresh parsley, this tasty dish is perfect for an easy weeknight meal with minimal prep and maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or more broth if preferred)
  • 1 packet (0.7 oz) Italian dressing mix (dry seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Other Ingredients

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta, cooked and drained
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom and season them with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, white wine (if using), and Italian dressing mix. Stir continuously until the mixture is well combined and creamy.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
  4. Cook the Pasta: About 20 minutes before the chicken finishes cooking, prepare the angel hair pasta according to package instructions. Drain the pasta thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Once the chicken is cooked, shred or slice it. Serve the chicken atop a bed of the cooked angel hair pasta. Spoon plenty of the creamy sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom soup for a different flavor variation.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or reserved pasta water to loosen it to your desired consistency.
  • This dish reheats beautifully, making it great for leftovers and meal prep.
  • For a non-alcoholic option, replace white wine with additional chicken broth.
