This creamy and smooth Cream Cheese Frosting is perfect for frosting cakes, cupcakes, or cookies. With a hint of vanilla and a touch of sweetness, it pairs beautifully with red velvet, carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls. Easy to make and absolutely delicious!

Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Beat Cream Cheese and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add Vanilla and Salt: Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and mix until combined.
- Gradually Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition until the frosting is fluffy and smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Use or Store: Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Let come to room temperature and re-whip before using if chilled.
Notes
- For a stiffer frosting (for piping), add up to 1/2 cup more powdered sugar.
- For a tangier flavor, increase the cream cheese to 10 oz.
- This frosting pairs well with red velvet, carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls.
