Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Peanut Butter Bars featuring a creamy peanut butter base topped with a smooth chocolate layer, finished with optional festive sprinkles. Perfectly sweet and satisfying, these no-bake bars are quick to prepare and ideal for parties or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanut Butter Base

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4-5 cups powdered sugar (start with 4 cups)

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Optional Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dish: Line an 8×8” or 9×9” baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and easy removal of the bars.
  2. Mix peanut butter and butter: In a large bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and softened unsalted butter. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add vanilla and salt: Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of salt until fully incorporated into the peanut butter mixture.
  4. Add powdered sugar: Gradually add 4 to 5 cups of powdered sugar to the mixture, mixing on low speed as you go. Adjust the amount based on desired consistency—it should be firm enough to press into the pan without sticking.
  5. Press the base: Evenly press the peanut butter mixture into the prepared parchment-lined dish to form a smooth, compact layer.
  6. Melt chocolate and coconut oil: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Microwave in short bursts, stirring in between until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  7. Pour chocolate layer: Quickly pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  8. Add sprinkles: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the top with 2 tablespoons of festive sprinkles for a colorful, decorative touch.
  9. Chill to set: Refrigerate the assembled bars for about 20 minutes or until the chocolate topping is firm and set before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest texture.
  • Adjust powdered sugar quantity to achieve desired firmness for cutting.
  • Coconut oil helps the chocolate set shiny and smooth but can be omitted if desired.
  • Store bars in the refrigerator to maintain shape and freshness.
  • These bars do not require baking.
