Ingredients
Scale
Meat
- 1 lb. ground chicken (93/7)
Produce
- 1 cup apple (finely diced)
Spices & Seasonings
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. ground sage
- ½ tsp. fennel seeds
- ½ tsp. rosemary
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt (to taste)
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
Oil
- 2 Tbsp. oil (avocado or olive)
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture: Add all ingredients except the oil to a large bowl. Using your hands or a stiff spatula, mix everything thoroughly until well combined. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3 inches wide and 1 inch thick.
- Cook the Patties: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat, coating the bottom evenly. Allow the oil to heat for 1-2 minutes, then place the patties in a single layer. Cook for 7-8 minutes total, flipping once halfway through, until the patties are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve or Store: Serve the sausage patties immediately while hot, or let them cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safe consumption.
- Feel free to swap the apples for pears for a slightly different flavor.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet to allow even browning on each patty.
- These patties can also be frozen for up to 2 months—thaw before reheating.
- Adjust the spices to your preference, adding more sage or rosemary if desired.
