- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Cook meat: Add the ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Sauté vegetables: Add onion, bell pepper, and celery, sauté until tender.
- Add garlic: Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
- Toast rice: Add rice and toast for 1–2 minutes.
- Add broth and seasonings: Pour in chicken broth, add Cajun seasoning, paprika, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a boil.
- Simmer: Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Rest and fluff: Remove from heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork, and garnish with green onions.
