Ingredients
Scale
Steak and Seasoning
- 1 lb sirloin steak (or your preferred cut), cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Finishing Touches
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the steak: Cut the sirloin steak into 1-inch cubes, trimming any excess fat to ensure even cooking and better texture.
- Season the steak: In a mixing bowl, toss the steak cubes with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until each piece is evenly coated with the flavorful marinade.
- Assemble the skewers: Thread the seasoned steak cubes onto skewers, spacing them slightly apart to allow heat circulation and even cooking.
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure it reaches the ideal cooking temperature.
- Cook the skewers: Place the skewers in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Depending on your air fryer size, cook in batches if necessary to maintain airflow.
- Air fry the steak: Cook the skewers for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through to brown all sides evenly. Cook for about 8 minutes for medium-rare doneness or 10 minutes for medium.
- Add the Parmesan cheese: Remove the skewers from the air fryer and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the hot steak pieces. Let the cheese melt slightly as the steak rests for a minute.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce or sides for a complete meal.
Notes
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning if you are using wooden ones.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference to make the skewers milder or spicier.
- For even cooking, cut steak pieces uniformly into 1-inch cubes.
- Rest the cooked skewers for a minute before serving to allow juices to redistribute and cheese to slightly melt.
- These skewers can be paired with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables for a balanced meal.
