Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Green Beans cooked to perfection with garlic, seasoned with salt and pepper, and finished with fresh lemon zest and juice for a bright, zesty touch. A quick and healthy side dish ready in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Beans

  • 12-16 oz. green beans, ends trimmed

Seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp. oil (avocado or olive)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • ½ – ¾ tsp. salt (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper

Optional Garnish

  • Lemon zest and juice (from 1 lemon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer: Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 375-380°F (190-193°C) for at least 3 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispy results.
  2. Prepare green beans: Trim the ends off the green beans if they are not already trimmed to remove the tough stem ends and ensure better texture.
  3. Toss with seasoning: In a large bowl, whisk together the avocado or olive oil, finely minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the green beans and toss thoroughly until they are evenly coated with the seasoned oil mixture.
  4. Arrange in air fryer basket: Place the coated green beans in the air fryer basket in a single layer, spreading them evenly along the bottom for uniform cooking.
  5. Cook the green beans: Air fry the green beans for 8-9 minutes at 375-380°F, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through the cooking process to brown them evenly. They should be bright green and fork-tender when done.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove the green beans from the air fryer and serve immediately. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh lemon zest and a squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh, citrusy flavor boost. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh green beans for the best texture and flavor.
  • Adjust salt quantity to your taste preference or dietary needs.
  • Lemon zest and juice are optional but add a refreshing tang.
  • Flip the green beans halfway through cooking to ensure even crispiness.
  • Avocado oil is preferred for its high smoke point, but olive oil works well too.
  • If using a smaller air fryer, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
